A woman is attacked on a Dresden tram; a US model bravely intervenes and is seriously injured. The first images from the hospital are now available.

The 21-year-old US citizen who was seriously injured in a knife attack on a Dresden tram last night has spoken out on social networks.

According to consistent media reports, the injured man is John Rudat, who claims to work as a model in New York . Dresden police could not fully confirm that the man in the video was the victim of the attack. However, a spokesperson told t-online that they assume he was.

The 21-year-old commented on the incident on his Instagram account. He is particularly shocked that one of the suspects, a 21-year-old Syrian, was released after his arrest. He believes this case demonstrates that "Germany has a migration problem" and, speaking to the camera with a bandage on his face and nose, asks accusingly: "Where is the law?"
